Mathematics TIE Grade 4

• Fractions: Introduction to basic fractions (halves, quarters, thirds, etc.), recognizing them as parts of a whole, and comparing simple fractions.
• Measurement: Working with units of length, mass, and capacity, as well as telling time using analog and digital clocks. Students learn to estimate and measure using appropriate tools.
• Geometry: Identifying and describing basic 2D shapes (squares, rectangles, circles, triangles) and 3D objects (cubes, cuboids, spheres, cones, cylinders). They also learn about lines, angles, and spatial relationships.
• Data Handling: Collecting, organizing, and interpreting simple data using pictographs and bar graphs.

The curriculum emphasizes active learning, encouraging students to explore mathematical concepts through hands-on activities, discussions, and real-life examples. The goal is to develop not only computational skills but also logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and an appreciation for the relevance of mathematics in everyday life.
